Friday evening, the mood of the week-end had just kicked in, 5:00PM urgent meeting at the TM’s(he is my manager’s manager) cabin for the whole team. We rush in, he starts, “We have a God send opportunity in our hand!!!”… wow was my first reaction, something really good is coming up .. but hold on .. he adds .. “there is going to be a re-churn of the load and we have to work on the weekend and give a good performance …”.. WTF!!! …
Then what he added, really reflected the way IT employees are made to work here. He said, at the client location, they will ask you to work on a week-end and if you say that you have some personal plans, they wont ask or question you again. But here, we have a different culture and we must keep aside all or personal aspirations for the work that we do… You $#*** . This means that the IT employees can be exploited to any extend and no one questions.
